Lady Dior Card Holder (OMG!)

As you can tell from the title I am very excited about this purchase.

I have been wanting a designer card holder for about a year now and kept flitting between the Chanel and Dior ones.

I decided on Dior in the end as Chanel make buying their products too difficult. I don’t live anywhere near London which is their nearest boutique so went with Dior as you can order their products online.

I chose the Lady Dior gusseted card holder in black patent calfskin. It was £220.00 with free delivery from Dior online.

I chose this one after reading many blogs and watching lot of vlogs reviewing the different styles. This one has lots of space and is durable, hard-wearing and very, very beautiful.

It arrived within  a few days from Paris. Can we just all take a moment to appreciate the beautiful packaging……..

I love the experience of opening packages like this. My husband thinks I am mad as a slowly take my time enjoying every moment of opening each layer.

As you can see this is extremely elegant and comes with its own dust bag. The Dior charm can be removed and that also has its own tiny dust bag.

29377280_unknownThere is space for 5 cards although you can double up in each compartment so 10 cards fit comfortably. I have also put cash in this and it stays in securely because if the popper fastening.29377360_unknown

It has the signature Dior stitching with the Dior charm which is lovely and can be removed but I will be keeping it attached.

I have used this several times now and it fits nicely into my small handbags. It’s really easy to use and I absolutely love it.

By Terry Brightening CC Serum

I have heard lots of great things about By Terry products and decided I wanted to try a product, but with so many fantastic products to choose from, where do you start?

I never miss a vlog from Lydia Elise Millen (check her out) I love her style, her work ethic and her honesty. She is a By Terry fan, and wears the Cellularose Brightening CC Serum everyday and when I saw the difference it makes to her skin I knew this was the first By Terry product I would try.

The first hurdle was finding someone who had it in stock. It comes in four shades but I wanted sunny flash and it seemed most retailers were out of stock of this shade.

I eventually found it at Space NK. It cost £61 and I qualified for free delivery. By the way, they have £15 off when you spend £60 at the moment so if you want this, or any other product, its a great time to purchase.

Within a couple of days, it arrived.

fullsizeoutput_60c

The packaging is lovely and the bottle and pump are excellent quality.

This a CC serum so its supposed to colour correct and brighten, smooth, blur imperfections and moisture. I can confirm it does all of the above.

29377040_unknown

You can apply it straight to your skin or before or after foundation. I have used it all three ways now. I wear it alone when I plan on a make-up free day and it is like your own skin, but better. I adds a nice healthy glow and moisturizer.

You can see here my hand before the serum was applied and after –

Applying before or after foundation makes my skin look more natural and because I chose sunny flash, it gives a nice bronzed tint.

Its an expensive product but worth the money in my opinion. one pump is all I need to cover my face so its going to last for ages.

The smell of this serum is beautiful. Its just like fresh cut roses. The scent lasts all day too.

I am looking forward to choosing my next By Terry product now because if they are all of this quality, I can see me becoming a massive fan.

I would love to hear from you if you have tried, or want to try this product, so please comment below.

Dior Rosy Glow Blush

Up until recently, I have always said, buying expensive “high-end” make up was a waste  of money. Drug stores do such a great range of lower price products its pointless spending so much on overpriced makeup where you are just paying for the name.

But as I get older, my skin seems to be getting more sensitive and more and more I was finding that cheaper products were causing me to have breakouts. I like the quality of these higher end products. I also love the experience of buying them. Browsing department store make up counters is something I love to do. And there is the packaging……. As you know I actually go weak at the knees for beautiful packaging so I confess, I am now a regular user of expensive make-up. I have not given up on drugstore products, there are still may that I use but I like to mix up my makeup collection.

29376720_unknown

This is my first Dior makeup purchase. I was looking for a new blusher and was shown this by the Dior sales consultant. I immediately dismissed it as it was far to bright for me but before I knew it I had been ushered to a stool and she was applying the product to my cheeks. She assured me that the colour always scared people but it was a very subtle shade when on the cheeks.

29376672_unknown

When she showed me my face in the mirror I was braced expecting to see a clown looking back at me, but no…. It was me with a very natural, pretty flush.

She was right it was a lovely subtle, natural shade.

So, I was sold.

I have used this now everyday for about a month and absolutely love it. It’s very easy to apply and I have actually had a few people ask me about what blush I am wearing because they love it.

29376768_unknown

The blush comes in a lovely chrome style compact with a mirror and brush. I have not used the brush though because I have not found the need to re-apply this throughout the day.

It also comes complete with velvet pouch.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Brushes

In December I was online Christmas shopping on Boots website and an offer popped up that I could not resist so I decided that I deserved a little Christmas present to myself!

The offer was on the Real Techniques bold metals makeup brush set and it was reduced to £50.00 for just one day (I think).

img_0930

As many of you will know, these brushes retail for around £20 each so this was a fantastic price for a set of 7 brushes.

I had been eyeing up these metal collection brushes for months but the price tag always put me off.

So when the brushes arrived I ripped off the packaging and put them to the test.

I have to say, they are well worth the money. Not only do they look beautiful on my dressing table, they are excellent quality brushes.

In the set you get –

  • Tapered Blush Brush
  • Triangle Foundation Brush
  • Arched Powder Brush
  • Angled Liner Brush
  • Tapered Shadow Brush
  • Flat Contour
  • Oval Eyeshadow Bush

img_0934img_0932img_0933I have used all brushes now and use them everyday. They are excellent quality and easy and comfortable to use. They do not shed at all.

I am a huge fan and the Real Techniques make up sponges and can now say that these brushes are also a firm favourite.

My First Kate Spade Handbag

I have wanted a Kate Spade handbag to add to my handbag collection for a while now.

I love the simple, elegant design of Kate Spade bags and their prices are at the lower end of designer bags so they suit my budget too.

This is my first Kate Spade purchase ever and I love it.

29114288_unknown

This is a small leather bag with a shoulder strap which is just about long enough to be worn across the body. What I really like though is that this strap can be completely removed so it can be used as a clutch bag and I will use it this way a lot.

29114240_unknown

The colour is like an off white which I liked as I have no other handbag in my collection which is this colour. The hardware is gold.

29114304_unknown

Inside there is a small pocket along with the main compartment. This is a small bag but big enough to fit in my phone, card holder and a lipstick so its perfect !

Getting Organised in 2017

I love being organised. So when I saw this planner in Hobbycraft I knew I had to have it.

29114112_unknown

Besides the fact that its beautiful, it was an absolute bargain! I think I paid £12 for it. Others I had seen that were similar to this were more like £50.

They had a few designs to choose from but I chose this butterfly print.

29114224_unknown

It has a couple of pages of handy stickers, an ideas page for each month, which I am using for blog ideas, a month view and then the diary pages.

The only negative thing is that you have to fill in your own dates but that’s not really a problem as it takes no time at all.

I am already using this everyday and loving it.

What tools do you use to keep organised?

Is this my favourite beauty product of 2016?

On my recent flight to Mexico, I spotted this in the duty-free brochure.

img_0948

At £18 it seemed pretty pricey but I had heard it was worth the money.

So I purchased a bottle of Nuxe.

My plan was to use it on my hair as it was feeling very dry. It has made a great difference to my hair and the ends feel much more hydrated. I apply it to the ends of my hair after blow drying it and it really makes it look healthy and smooth.

This oil can be used on your face and body and also cuticles. Oils always make me nervous as I worry once I have applied them I will look like a greasy chip.

As my skin started drying out after my holiday, I started using this each day on my legs, feet and arms and my skin has not peeled at all. This is a first for me as after every holiday, despite regularly applying various moisturisers, my skin always sheds.

So I then decided to try using it on my face. I absolutely love it! I apply it after cleanser and toner, and before I moisturise. It makes my skin feels amazing. It does not feel greasy in the slightest, just supple, smooth and silky. I was worried it may cause spots to breakout on my skin as its quite sensitive but it hasnt.

The scent of this product is beautiful. Its smells expensive (if you know what I mean).

Because of its multiple uses, longevity (you don’t need much of it for it to be effective), the beautiful scent and gorgeous packaging, this is probably my favourite beauty product of 2016 (I never thought I would say that about an oil).

As its new years eve, this will be my last post of 2016. I can’t wait for 2017 and lots more blogging 🙂

Thank you all for your continued support, I wish you all a fabulous 2017 .

Thanks

Duty Free Haul

One my favourite things about flying is airport shopping.

The airport is full of all the things I love to purchase. Makeup, fragrance, jewellery and accessories.

So, I leave my husband browsing the whisky aisles and I dash off like I am a contestant on supermarket sweep.

This time, we were flying out of Birmingham Airport. Its been a few years since I flew from Birmingham and last time the duty-free shopping was a bit limited but this time i was really impressed.

img_0513

The first thing I spotted was a Jo Malone shop. I have always wanted to try Jo Malone products so this was my chance to make my first purchase.

I decided on a candle and went for the Peony and Blush Suede fragrance and since I returned from holiday I have burned a lot of it already and the smell is divine. The packaging it also exquisite. Its boxed and bagged in the most beautiful way. This would be such a lovely christmas present for someone.

img_0922

It’s safe to say, I will definitely be making more Jo Malone purchases in the future.

I then headed over to the make up section. I wanted some more YSL Rouge Volupte Shine lipsticks.

I chose these shades –

img_0890

I absolutely love these lipsticks. I don’t suit bright, highly pigmented lipsticks so these are perfect for me. TheY feel amazing on your lips and I am a sucker for good packaging. This really is the best looking lipstick available (in my opinion).

Whilst in YSL I also picked up this eyeshadow palette. I don’t wear eyeshadow everyday but when I do I like a smoky eye so this palette is perfect.

I then moved into Dior. I have never tried Dior makeup before. I picked up and concealer and blusher.

This blusher looks terrifying as its so bright, but the sales assistant applied some to my cheeks and I fell in love with it. It much more subtle than how it looks in the palette.

I also picked up 3 fragrances.

Chanel – No5 L’Eau

img_0938

Gucci -Bamboo

img_0944

Elie Saab – Rose Couture

img_0935

All of threse fragrances are beautiful but if i had to pick a favourite, it woud be Gucci Bamboo. This one seems to last all day. I hate spending a load of money on perfume you cant smell 5 minutes after you have applied it.

I do plan to do a blog reviewing some of these products so look out for that if you are interested in any more information on any of them.
